“I’m an Advisor at Calliou Group with a background in research and public policy. Originally from Winnipeg, I have been living in Calgary for three years.”
Brittany Mcdonald
senior Advisor
I hold both a B.A. and M.A. in Linguistics (from the University of Manitoba and University of Calgary, respectively), where I learned all about the different languages spoken across the land we now call North America and how colonialism impacts language and other aspects of Indigenous life. This fall, I also earned a Master of Public Policy from the University of Calgary, and my Capstone project investigated the discriminatory language policies that exist in Canada that restrict Indigenous language revitalization efforts.
I am working hard to get to know our clients to be able to support a diverse set of projects in a number of areas in the form of research, report writing, database management, community engagement, and consultation office support.
I split my time pretty evenly between being a couch potato and getting outside, going for hikes. I love baseball, having played fast-pitch softball competitively for 18 years and coaching for three years before “retiring” when I moved to Calgary.
